My day has been uneventful, to say the least. I moved to a new hotel. I opted for the one that’s in the city and not the big fancy one near the airport. I really wanted to move to the airport one, but I knew if I did I’d be so far away I wouldn’t want to venture into the city. I think this was the right choice. As it turns out, it’s really only about a 15 minute walk to Ramesh’s place.
After checking into the hotel I sat around for a little while. The bed is really comfortable in the room. I went to the cafe, read and did some stuff online for a little while. I then came back to my room and took a really wonderful nap. I had a strange dream. I was traveling, but it wasn’t India. I’m not sure where it was. I went on some kind of day trip from wherever I was staying. Included was a room in this old house, but since I had to be back on the bus I only got the room for a short period and not overnight. There was also a lot of water and pools around. I’m not sure if it was a lake or a river. In one of the rooms of the place I rented there was a shelf. On the shelf was a large cutout of a South Park character. I then went outside to watch the water. It would recede and then come back in with the waves, but it wasn’t like a beach or anything. It was a built structure and I was sitting on a stone bench that went up against where the waves were coming in. As the water receded, I could see the rocks beneath. I could also see how they were attached. They had been stuck together with something that made an interesting pattern. I watched the waves for a little while and then went outside. I walked for a little while and then decided to go back to my room. I couldn’t remember which building it was because they all looked the same. I walked into one that had some work going on and showed a guy. I’m not really sure what he said, but I remember interacting with him pretty vividly in the dream. It was very strange. After that I mostly got up. I haven’t had a dream that realistic in quite a while. It was so realistic I’m not even sure I was really dreaming when I had it. I really don’t know what it means. I like dreaming though. I’m glad I had it, even if I can’t really decipher it right now.
I realized there’s a movie theater very close to where I’m staying. It’s actually less than a 10 minute walk from here. They are only playing two movies right now, but they’re both in English. I might go see one (or both!) of them tomorrow. They are playing spread out throughout the day. I just plan to play it by ear since I have no real plans or anything I feel I must do tomorrow. I thought I would go to Khan Market, but then Ramesh called and I met him for dinner and grabbed my suitcase instead. It’s nice to have all my stuff and feel like I’m pretty ready to leave. I’ll still have to pack, but that’s not really going to take very long. I should be able to coordinate a ride from the hotel to the airport. It’s going to cost quite a bit, but that’s ok. My flight leaves so early I definitely don’t want to try find a ride to the airport myself in the middle of the night. I think the hotel is a better bet.
Ok, time to sleep. I’ll probably set my alarm for a time I don’t think it’s possible for me to sleep to. I don’t have anything I need to do tomorrow or any reason to get up, but it would be nice to make it to the buffet breakfast in the morning.
